1. Remove the glovebox. You need to press the center of each plug around the front inside edge of the box thru (be sure to note where they go, you'll need them later).

2. Unscrew the glovebox door from UNDER the dash, four screws in all.

3. Remove the arms that limit how far the door opens and set aside.

4. There is a rubber boot acting as a duct for air to flow thru the center vent. You'll need to carefully press the keepers out from inside the boot, I used a long screw driver stuck thru the front of the center vent. There are two on top, two on bottom (if memory serves...)

5. Remove the four square knobs from the levers. They will come off by rocking them from one side to the other.

6. Remove the fan blower speed knob. Mine pulled straight out.

7. Look into the center vent, at the outer sides near the top. In there are screws about 1 inch or less inside the vent that need to be removed. Remove them.

8. There is another screw that attached the vent lever to the vent door. Unscrew it to disconnect the lever. It is also an adjusting screw, so when you put it back together, you can set how tight the door closes. This will be a great improvement if you have been hearing a whistle due the door not closing prior.

9. The controls should be loose now. You can carefully pry the four cable ends from the controls using a flat screw driver.

10. Carefully remove the fiber optics that provide illumination, remembering how they go back in for reassembly. I may have forgot something in there, but you should be able to handle it as it comes up. The most mysterious part is the screws removed from inside the vent. I tried this on a car in the wrecking yard that had a bad dash first, well worth the $1 to get into the Pick-&-Pull!
