1 Spied: Mercedes-Benz GLK with less camouflage

Mercedes-Benz's latest GLK-Class prototypes have just dropped some more camouflage, and most of the car's key styling elements are now visible. Prior GLK prototypes

3 Mercedes wishes upon a star

THE Mercedes-Benz star is getting a polish this week, after 18 years without so much as a tweak to its twinkle.

The change to one of the "world's most recognised trademarks" are subtle - we're not talking here about adding a limb or getting it to spin on its axis.

But just in time for Christmas, the theme of the new identity is "the star always shines from above". Mercedes means it literally, with the new

4 New C-class has that Mercedes feel

So, is the new C-class - in the deathless prose of the ad - a Mercedes-Benz? Well, it feels like one. The moment you touch the door handle, you register the lubricated heft, the mantle-of-the-Earth solidity of Mercedes' biggest and best products. Fall into the stiff, low-bolster seats and the familiar comes at you in waves: The optional COMAND nav/audio/vehicle controller interface is the same as in the S-class, only the

6 1966 Mercedes-Benz 200D, plus Bonus 70s Mercedes Poll

It's been quite a while since we last saw a Mercedes-Benz down on Alameda's streets, and that's partly because I've set a cutoff year of 1970 for these cars to make the DOTS grade. See, back in the days before M-B's quality control department went straight to hell recognized economic reality, you could count on your Benz to keep going for interstellar numbers of miles. This means that you still see more...

15 S400 BLUETEC HYBRID

Capable of 40 Miles Per Gallon with V8-Like Performance. LOS ANGELES, CA – Mercedes-Benz is holding the North American debut of a bold new powertrain at the Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public November 16-23, 2007 at the L.A. Convention Center. The new S400 BLUETEC HYBRID combines both clean diesel and hybrid technologies by using the latest BLUETEC diesel instead of the gasoline engine that usually helps power a hybrid. Since hybrids use a conventional engine in concert with an electric motor, it’s not surprising that a state-of-the-art hybrid is making use of the world’s most fuel-efficient piston engine – the diesel. In its latest form, the exhaust emissions from the Mercedes-Benz BLUETEC diesel are as clean as a modern gasoline engine.
